Even with long waits, remember that you never know when the wait will be cut in half, so you will have to wait in line.
Today’s surprise restocking was first spotted by console trackers. Wario 64. In the past few days, Sony has had most or more public PS5 restocks than 2022. It’s still relatively difficult to rate the PS5, but we’ve seen a slight spike in console drops.

How to get invitations from Sony Direct
Occasionally Sony Direct offers supplies for invited guests only. (Invitations will be sent by email.) Last year Sony opened up registrations for these events to the general public. Now anyone can sign up for Sony Direct PS5 restock by invitation only.
Or, you want to make sure you have an active Sony Direct account and notifications are set to “Yes”. Creating a Sony Direct account is easy. You can register here using this link. After you set up your account, you’ll need to add your address and billing information. Saving this information will make your job easier when adding your PS5 console to your shopping cart.
To enable notifications from Sony Direct, you need to log in to your account, click “My Profile” and then click the “Edit” button on the profile page. Then you will be taken to the new account settings page. Register to receive news and special offers from Sony by selecting “Notifications” in the left column of this page.
While this trick doesn’t guarantee you’ll get an invite on time for the next PS5 drop, it does increase your chances of participating in the next Sony Direct PS5 exclusive restocking event.
How to get a PS5 if you don’t receive an invitation
In general, after PS5 restock, Sony will only open virtual queues to the general public by invitation. However, this is not always guaranteed. (Some vendors may be completely sold out.) If additional consoles are available, there may be a refill for the general public after the invite-only event ends. (usually 1-2 hours after the original drip starts). Of course you can bookmark the page and we’ll keep you up to date with the latest PS5 stocks from Sony Direct and all major US retailers.
What to do when in a queue
Once you enter the virtual queue, you will see the estimated wait time. All wait times vary and you will most likely have to wait “more than an hour”. Then don’t despair. Your status may change quickly and the waiting time may be shorter than expected. (For example, after waiting 20 minutes for the previous PS5 restock event, our time was reduced from “over an hour” to just 15 minutes.)
You may also need to work around the captcha. (a simple challenge/question to make sure you’re not a bot). Normally you should select an option button. As a result, you should ensure that your browser tabs are clearly visible. Because otherwise you could miss the captcha prompt and lose your seat in the queue.
