“Joyce and the Byers family have left. [Hawkins] At the end of season 3,” he added, referring to the character of Winona Ryder and her sons Will (Noah Schnapp) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton).

“You are in California. We’ve always wanted to have an ET-like suburban aesthetic. We finally got to do it in the desert this year. and we have a hopper [David Harbour] in Russia; And of course we have another group in Hawkins. So we have all three of these storylines connected and intertwined, but with very different tones.”

“We didn’t know how big the season was going to be, and we didn’t even realize how much we wanted to talk about this season until midway through,” Ross Duffer said. “Game of Thrones is one of the things we mentioned, but it’s also about revelation for us because we’re starting to give our audience some answers.”

The brothers have also revealed that the upcoming season will feature much longer episodes than we know. “I don’t think there are any episodes that last less than an hour. Season 1 also had episodes that lasted 35 minutes or so. It’s kind of forgettable,” Matt said. “This season is so long, I think it’s almost twice as long as the other seasons. That’s one of the reasons it takes so long. It has such an epic quality. It definitely has a different feel.”
