Millicent’s quests take you through the entire Elden Ring (at least to get the precious Miquela needle), including visiting optional late-game realms and encountering Malenia, the toughest boss fight in the game. We’ve put together all of Millicent’s locations on the map above, along with a step-by-step guide on where to go down and what you can do to complete the ridiculously long quest line. I’ve also described the Caelid and Haligtree areas in a bit more detail below as the key locations are fairly close and I don’t want anyone to confuse them. good luck!

  1. Meet Gouri in the magical village (central Khalid), a small hut south of Celia before heading off to find Millicent. He will ask him to bring him an unalloyed gold pin.
  2. Head to the swamps of Aeonia, especially to the southeast. There will be a boss fight with Commander O’Neil. Kill him and get an Unalloyed Gold Pin as a reward.
  3. When done, return to Gowry and give him a needle, then a quick move/time kill at the nearby Place of Grace. When you come back he will fix it.
  4. Take it to Millicent at the Plague Church to the east. He’s defending him from that terrifying Shrimpman foe. Give her her needles and redo her break/quick journey and exhaust her conversations.
  5. Take a break/quick trip again and return to Gowry’s Shack. Talk to Millicent and exhaust her conversation again.
  6. Go to the Altus Plateau, north of the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace and south of Wyndham Ruins. Millicent stares at the cliff, exhausting her conversation again.
  7. Go to the Shady Castle and obtain Valkyrie’s will in the treasure chest guarded by the Cleanrot Knight to the northwest. Bring it back to Millicent and continue talking. At this point, if she wants to talk to her with her, she has to tell her everything she has.
  8. Go to Dominula Village and defeat the Godskin Apostle boss. After reloading the area, she is in the arena. Speak to completion as usual.
  9. Millicent then makes a big jump to the ancient Snow Valley Ruins Site of Grace in the Mountaintops of the Giants, so you’ll need to defeat the Morgott Omen King to get to the area. Talk to her as usual. We’re almost there (sort of).
  10. Millicent can be found in the optional late-game Haligtree area in North Consecrated Snowgrounds. More specifically, she is in the field of the Prayer Room of Grace, about halfway across the area.
  11. Go down until you find the Drainage Channel Site of Grace, then take the ladder to the cave area and then left until you find the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. It’s not technically a boss fight, but it’s brutal nonetheless. Kill tree spirits and reload the area. There are now two summon tokens on the ground. One invites her to help Millicent and the other invites her to fight.
  12. If you decide to help Millicent, kill 4 NPCs with her using a variety of weapons and as a reward you will receive a Rotten Winged Sword Insignia Talisman (increasing damage to multi-attacks). Otherwise, fight them directly for Millicent’s Prosthetic Talisman, doing the same while increasing Agility by 5. If you want Michela’s needles for her, you have to choose to help her. Upon completion, Millicent will die nearby. Talk her to her last her to retrieve her Mi-alloy Gold Needle and complete her questline.

This will guide you through Millicent’s entire questline, but technically it’s not the end. There are still potential rewards for the boss fights and the aftermath of this bigger quest.

After recovering the Unalloyed Gold Needle from Millicent at the end of the quest, there is only one step left to transform into Michela’s Needle. The problem is that this is a very difficult step. Continue down Haligtree from the Drainage Channel Site of Grace to reach Malenia’s arena, one of the toughest bosses in the game. With the challenge in mind, here in our guide, we’ve covered how to beat Malenia in the Elden Ring, including the easy cheese method.

Kill Malenia. If you do, she will leave behind a huge red flower that turns your regular gold needles into Michela’s needles upon interaction. Please remember that this is a one-time promotion for a unique item.

Instructions on how to use Michela’s needle

Elden Ring Millicent Questline Michela's Needle

Miquella’s needles are consumables with only one function. If a player creates a Three Finger Pact under Leyndell and traps himself at the end of the Raging Flame, he can use Miquella’s Needle to permanently undo that action and unlock the normal ending. again. However, there is only one place that can be used: the arena of Dragonlord Placidusax, the boss battle of the collapsing Farrum Azula.

To find it, go to Beside the Greatbridge Site of Grace, take the elevator through the small church into the courtyard, then jump over the small railing at the west edge and follow the stone path to find the giant tornado. In front of you is a wide stone ring with a recess. As you approach, you need to lie down. That way you’ll see a time-lapse movie and you’ll be sent to the arena with the two-headed dragon lord (don’t worry, he won’t attack you until you get close).

Use Michela’s Needle anywhere in this arena before or after killing Dragonlord Placidusax. It will effectively “heal” you from the tip of the raging flame and then destroy the needles and you’ll find that it works because your eyes are no longer fiery red while you are still burned. You can’t make a three-finger appointment after that, so make sure you don’t want a specific finale. Melina won’t come back even after healing. Anyway, how does she know you’ve been through all this mess?

Millicent’s quest will take you all throughout the Elden Ring, including going into late-game optional areas and even encountering Malenia, the hardest boss fight in the game (at least if you want to get the valuable Miquella’s Needle). We’ve laid out a step-by-step guide on where to go below, with all of Millicent’s locations on the map above and what you can do to complete her incredibly long questline. We’ve also put together some closer details on the areas of Caelid and the Haligtree below, as the key locations are pretty close to each other and we don’t want anybody getting confused. Best of luck, Tarnished!

Before going to find Millicent, meet Gowry in the little shack just South of Sellia, Town of Sorcery (in central Caelid). He’ll ask you to bring him an Unalloyed Gold Needle.
Head into the Swamp of Aeonia, specifically the area in the Southeast side. There’ll be a boss fight with Commander O’Neil – kill him and get the Unalloyed Gold Needle as a reward.
Once you’re done, head back to Gowry and give him the Needle, then fast travel/pass time at a nearby Site of Grace. When you come back, he’ll have repaired it.
Take it to Millicent, who’s at the Church of the Plague to the East, guarded by a couple of those horrible prawn people enemies. Give her the needle, then rest/fast travel again and exhaust her dialogue.
Rest/fast travel once more and head back to Gowry’s Shack. Talk to Millicent and exhaust her dialogue again.
Head to the Altus Plateau, just North of the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace and South of the Wyndham Ruins. Millicent is looking out over the cliffedge – exhaust her dialogue again.
Head to the Shaded Castle and get the Valkyrie’s Prosthesis, which is in a treasure chest guarded by a Cleanrot Knight on the Northwest side. Bring it back to Millicent and talk with her further. It should go without saying at this point that if you’re ever going to talk with her, make sure you get her to say everything she has.
Go to Dominula Village and beat the Godskin Apostle boss fight. After reloading the area, she’ll be in the arena. Talk to completion as usual.
Millicent then makes a significant jump to the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Site of Grace in Mountaintops of the Giants, so you’ll have to have beaten Morgott the Omen King to reach this area. Talk to her as usual – you’re nearly there (sort of).
Millicent is then found in the optional late-game Haligtree area in the North Consecrated Snowgrounds. Specifically she’s in the Prayer Room Site of Grace, about halfway through the area.
Head down below until you find the Drainage Channel Site of Grace, then head back up the ladder into the cavernous area and head left until you find the Ulcerated Tree Spirit – not technically a boss fight, but brutal all the same. Kill the Tree Spirit, then reload the area. There’ll now be two summon signs on the ground, one inviting you to Help Millicent, one to fight her.
If you choose to help Millicent, you’ll work with her to kill four NPCs with a variety of weapons, with a Rotten Winged Sword Insignia Talisman as a reward (which boosts damage on successive attacks). Otherwise you’ll fight her directly for Millicent’s Prosthesis Talisman, which does the same thing while also boosting Dexterity by five. If you want Miquella’s Needle, you HAVE to choose to help her. Once you’re done, Millicent will be dying close by. Talk to her one last time to get the Unalloyed Gold Needle again and end her questline.

This takes you through the sum total of Millicent’s questline, but it’s not technically the end. There’s still a boss fight and a potential prize to be gained from the fallout of this larger quest.

How to use Miquella’s Needle explained

Miquella’s Needle is a consumable that is designed to have one function – if a player has locked themselves into the Frenzied Flame Ending by making a pact with the Three Fingers below Leyndell, Miquella’s Needle can be used to cancel this act forever, and open up the regular endings again. However, there’s only one place it can be used, the arena of Dragonlord Placidusax, a boss fight in Crumbling Farum Azula.
To find it, head to the Beside the Greatbridge Site of Grace, go back down the lift and through the little church into the courtyard, then jump down from the West edge onto a small outcropping and follow the path of stones to a giant tornado. Ahead of you will be a wide ring of stone with a divot in it – approaching will prompt you to “Lie Down”. Do so and you’ll go through a cinematic in which time reverses and you’re sent to an arena with the two-headed Dragonlord (don’t worry, he won’t attack until you get closer).
Use the Miquella’s Needle anywhere within this arena, either before or after killing Dragonlord Placidusax. It will effectively “cure” you of the Frenzied Flame Ending, destroying the Needle afterwards, and you’ll know its worked because while you’re still burnt, your eyes will no longer have the fiery red colour. You cannot make a pact again with the Three Fingers after this, so make sure you don’t want this particular finale. Melina also won’t come back even after curing yourself – after all, how’s she to know you went through all this chaos?
