Core ingredients are used to create potions that add or remove conditions and stats. Basic potions that add or remove effects require the use of three ingredients. This potion can also increase or decrease stats depending on what ingredients it is combined with. As long as the resource is being researched, players can unlock various potion recipes by experimenting with ingredient combinations.

Players can experiment with different combinations, but it’s important to note that if incompatible materials are combined, resources will be lost and no potions will be created.

Depending on the material used, potions can be used to summon creatures or transform a target. Creature components can be combined with berries to make summon potions, or with Mandragore to make transform potions. The resulting potion depends on the creature component used. Also, players can only get certain components from attached creatures. In addition to biological components, there are other transforming components that can be used in potions with different effects.

mandrake: Can be used to transform a target by combining it with a creature component or transformation material.
restless bones: Transforms the target into an unstable undead when combined with Mandragore
butterfly: Combine with Mandragore to revive the target.
Cursed Ember: Combine with Mandragore to kill the target.

The resulting potion will depend on which creature component was used. Additionally, players can only obtain a specific component from the creature it’s associated with. There are also other transformation ingredients besides creature components that can be used for potions with varying effects.
Mandragore: Can be used to transform a target when combined with a creature component or transformation ingredient
Restless Bone: Turns target into an undead Restless when combined with Mandragore
Butterfly: Brings target back to life when combined with Mandragore
Cursed Ember: Kills the target when combined with Mandragore
Poppy: Turns target into a female of their species when combined with Mandragore
Reed: Turns target into a male of their species when combined with Mandragore
Hair: A creature component obtained from a Human. This ingredient can be combined with a Berry to summon the creature, or a Mandragore to transform the target.

All of the transformation potions require a Mandragore. Small amounts of Mandragore appear in the Wasteland and it has red leaves. It may take a while to complete the research for Mandragore and collect enough to brew the desired potions, but players can speed up the process by resting at the Camp and waiting for the zone to reset when a Corruption Storm passes. Potions are a big part of crafting in The Serpent Rogue, and researching and brewing often will help players progress quicker.
