Toilet Paper Roll Bugs
Making worms out of toilet paper rolls is so much fun! It’s very open-ended, as there are 1001 ways to decorate your bugs. Make a firefly, a moth or an alien worm. The production choice is entirely up to you.

We love toilet paper tacks and have made several in different shapes and techniques. The wind blown ladybug toilet paper craft and this toilet paper bee craft are one of our favorites. However, there are many ways to create a bug, and today I’m going to show you a more open approach.
A variety of materials for children…
…and let them do their magic by designing their favorite beetle or fantasy beetle.
We’re sure they’ll make amazing creations and we’ll show you 4 cool bugs to spark their imaginations.
It shows fireflies and bugs step by step, but you can also see bees and ladybugs.
Then you can do other tasks completely on your own.
Hurry up, get a roll of toilet paper from your stash and start crafting.
How to make a toilet paper roll beetle
What you need:
- toilet paper roll
- artisan painting
- glue
- cotter pin (optional)
- black lining
- brush
- scissors
- Colored paper (red, blue, green, etc.)
- big eyes
- one punch
step-by-step instructions

Cover the roll of toilet paper with green acrylic paint. dry
Draw 3 blue stripes on a green paper roll. Punch a blue circle with one punch and attach a squiggly eye to it. Draw the mouth and small tongue. Glue the head to the paper roll. Cut out the two large blue wings and two small green wings. Attach the wings to the paper roll with bobby pins. Cut 6 green strips for the beetle legs and 2 green strips for the antennae.
Glue 6 strips, 3 on each side, to the body.
Attach the antenna to the head.

Paint the paper roll with black acrylic paint.
Create a green stripe on the bottom of the roll paper.
Cut small green hearts and glue them to a paper roll.
Punch a red circle with one punch and glue the eyes on it with a glue gun.
Draw a small mouth and tongue with a black pencil.
Attach the head to the body.
Cut out the two red wing shapes and attach them to the body with cotter pins.
Cut 6 red strips for the legs and 2 red strips for the antenna.
Glue three legs on each side.
Add 2 antennas.
Perfect!
Now let these insects flap their wings and fly.

How to make toilet paper roll bugs
What do you need:
toilet paper rolls
craft paintings
glue
cotter pins (optional)
black lining

the scissors
colored papers (red, blue, green and more)
wide eyes
circle puncher
Step by step instructions
Beetle
Cover the toilet paper roll with green acrylic color. Let it dry.
Paint 3 blue stripes on the roll of green paper. Punch a blue circle with the circle punch and stick the googly eyes on it. Draw a mouth and a small tongue. Glue the head to the roll of paper. Cut out two large blue wings and two smaller green ones. Attach the wings to the roll of paper using hairpins. Cut out 6 green strips for the legs and 2 green strips for the bug’s antennae.
Glue 6 strips to the body, three on each side.
Glue the antennae on the head.
Firefly
Paint the paper roll with black acrylic paint.
Make a green stripe at the bottom of the paper roll.
Cut out a small green heart and glue it to the roll of paper.
Punch out a red circle using the circle puncher and glue the googly eyes on it.
Draw a small mouth and a tongue using the black pencil.
Glue the head to the body.
Cut out two red wing shapes and attach them to the body using cotter pins.
Cut 6 red strips for the legs and 2 red strips for the antennae.
Glue the legs, three on each side.
Add the 2 antennas on it.
Finished!
Now make these insects fly by moving their wings.
