Tom Hiddleston spoke briefly about Loki’s sexuality in an interview with The Guardian.
In the third episode of the first season of the Marvel spinoff, Loki subtly appears during a conversation with Sylvie. When asked about his love life, she said, “There must have been a lot of aspiring princesses or maybe other princes,” Loki said, “a little of both. I’m thinking the same thing as you.”
“I hope that Loki’s coming out as bisexual will mean something to those who find it,” Hiddleston told The Guardian. “It was a small step and there will be more to come. But it was definitely important to all of us.”
The God of Mischief is actually bisexual in the cartoon that confirmed this in Young Avengers #15. Loki Season 1 director and showrunner Kate Herron previously said it was important for the show to acknowledge Loki’s sexuality and make it an official part of Loki’s existence within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

LGBTQ+ expression is slowly growing in the superhero universe, with John Cena’s Peacemaker appearing at the end of the first season of the DC spinoff and Marvel’s Eternals played by openly gay hero Brian Tyree Henry. Tessa Thompson, whose Valkyrie becomes ruler of New Asgard in Thor: Love & Thunder, Tessa Thompson, told audiences at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that the new film will find Nordic superheroes as kings “in search of their queen”.
