Vanarama National League launches campaign to be added to FIFA 20
Despite licensing FIFA 19 packages around the world, every year fans insist on adding leagues that aren’t already in the game. But so far, we’ve never seen the boards of these leagues join fans for inclusion in EA’s football series. England’s Vanarama National League is changing this with a campaign for inclusion in FIFA 20.
Playing in the fifth division of English football, home to many former league clubs including Hartlepool United, loved by Wrexham, Leyton Orient and Jeff ‘Soccer Saturday’ Stelling, has always been limited to management simulations from a gameplay perspective. League sponsor Vanarama hopes to end this tradition with the support of FA President David Bernstein, an online petition you can sign here, and a mockup of the FIFA 20 National League Edition box.
They even have one or two players like Sutton United captain Jamie Collins. He started at Watford and spent 16 years on the fringes of professional gaming at clubs like Newport County and Aldershot Town, but never appeared in any FIFA series as non-league teams shunned him. “It would be great if the fans could play like me and help pick a winner against Manchester City at Wembley,” Collins said. “Campaigns are a great idea. Now is the time for real football.”
Collins is one of the players on this mockup cover, along with Havant & Waterlooville scorer Alfie Rutherford.
Other vague names currently active in the league and absent from FIFA 19 Ultimate Team include former Arsenal contender Craig Eastmond (Sutton), former Spurs winger Mark Yates (Isley) and Bromley’s Kyle de Silva. Last confirmed in FIFA 16. (Images below are courtesy of Futhead.)
“If successful, this campaign will make a real commercial difference in terms of putting a smile on the faces of some of the world’s most loyal fans and the financial challenges football faces outside of the league,” Bernstein said.

Vanarama National League launches campaign to be added to FIFA 20
Despite FIFA 19 packing in licenses from all over the globe, each year sees fans clamour for the addition of leagues that aren’t already in the game – with the Chinese Super League newly included last time out. But until now we’ve never seen the governing body of one of said leagues join supporters in clamouring to be included in EA’s football series. England’s Vanarama National League is changing that with its campaign to make it into FIFA 20.
Home to many former league clubs such as Wrexham, Leyton Orient, and Jeff ‘Soccer Saturday’ Stelling’s beloved Hartlepool United, from a gaming standpoint playing in the fifth tier of English football has always been limited to management sims. League sponsor Vanarama hopes to end that tradition with backing from FA chairman David Bernstein, an online petition which you can sign here, and a mock-up of a ‘National League edition’ box for FIFA 20.
They’ve even got a player or two in on the act, such as Sutton United captain Jamie Collins. He started out at Watford and has spent 16 years on the outskirts of the pro game at clubs such as Newport County and Aldershot Town, yet never appeared in the FIFA series due to non-league teams being shunned. “I’d love it if our fans were able to play as me and help me nod in the winner against Man City at Wembley,” says Collins. “The campaign is a great idea – it’s about time real football got in the game.”
Collins is one of the players on that mock-up cover, alongside Havant & Waterlooville top scorer Alfie Rutherford.
Other vaguely notable names currently plying their trade in the league, and therefore missing from FIFA 19 Ultimate Team, include former Arsenal prospect Craig Eastmond (Sutton), ex-Spurs winger Mark Yeates (Eastleigh) and Bromley’s Kyle de Silva, who made seven appearances for Crystal Palace and was last seen in FIFA 16. “This campaign, when successful, will make a real commercial difference to the financial challenges facing non-league football – in addition to putting a smile on the faces of some of the most devoted fans in the world,” says Bernstein.
