I love to make all kinds of crafts with real leaves, as the different shapes and colors allow me to do many creative projects. You can create all kinds of animals and creatures, let your imagination guide you.

For toddlers and preschoolers, our favorite activity is to give the kids some leaves, googly snow, grass and a sheet of paper and let them make arts and crafts. You’ll be amazed at the crazy cool stuff they came up with (you can get some inspiration here too).

We can also share some cool ideas that are great on the subject unit.

Lion leaf crafts for preschool and kindergarten kids

lion leaf crafts for kidsThis cool lion leaf craft comes with a fun template for kids to color in, so it’s a great leaf activity that focuses on fine motor skills and holding a pencil.

For a more open version of the process, skip the template and let the kids design their own lion head using a variety of materials provided, including construction paper, paint, cloth, google eyes, and more.

leaf craft with paper plate

Paper Plate Hedgehog CraftsThis paper plate hedgehog craft is one of my personal favorite paper plate crafts. O sharp thorns! Beloved!

And with a deep paper plate, it’s easy to stand up on your own. If you’re using a regular plate, you can just slide a roll of paper in between to spread it out a bit and it will work just fine.

You can make awesome hedgehogs out of real leaves, so why just paint and paper? Could there really be a more suitable fall leaf project than this?

paint them

You can make leafy ladybugs, beetles, foxes, and more.
