WWE 2K22 Update Adds 7 Playable Characters and New Moves

2K Games has updated WWE 2k22 with additional moves and the arrival of more iconic wrestlers to the MyRise career mode, alongside a number of various enhancements and tweaks. Wrestling games appear to have become increasingly popular over the years, with developer 2K Games continuing to put more resources behind its WWE 2K series by releasing additional post-launch updates and major game-to-game changes. According to recent statements from Stephanie McMahon, WWE will be following 2K22 with an RPG, further diversifying its presence in the gaming sphere.

Plenty of gamers use the WWE 2K games to create their own meticulously detailed Superstars and battle with friends through local or online co-op, but there is single-player content to enjoy as well. The MyRise mode was included in WWE 2K22, allowing players to either play through the career of pro wrestler Rey Mysterio or create their own wrestler, crafting their legend from the ground-up. MyRise follows a narrative that can be slightly influenced by player decision, and the campaign is split into male and female storylines. Regular updates have expanded and polished this MyRise career mode alongside the broader game, with a recent WWE 2K22 patch tweaking character appearances and cutting down glitches.

Yet another patch for WWE 2K22, detailed by WWE 2K on Twitter, has been delivered by 2K Games, polishing and enhancing the game by improving performance and fixing assorted bugs. More substantial than these fixes, however, is the addition of several real-world WWE Superstars who can be played in the MyRise campaign. A total of seven new wrestlers have been added, including King Booker, Nikki Cross, and Shinsuke Nakamura. New finisher and signature moves, which can be applied to custom characters, have also been added. Other notable changes include online multiplayer enhancements, the removal of minor visual glitches, and stability improvements for the Universe mode. The full patch notes are as follows:

Celebrity wrestlers like Logan Paul will come to WWE 2K22 through paid DLC  this summer, increasing the roster even further. The famous YouTuber will be joined by other high-profile names like Machine Gun Kelly and Mr. T, providing what should be a healthy dose of new game content.

While the potential presented by novelty characters like non-WWE celebrities is limitless, it’s good that 2K Games is still increasing its vanilla WWE 2K22 roster for players who want a more realistic experience. The addition of new moves will certainly help keep fans happy as well, as it adds to the already-monumental list of options available in character customization. The future of wrestling games certainly looks bright, and consistent, substantive updates for WWE 2k22 are part of that future.
